The Tallow Factory is easily located,  in a courtyard setting opposite the 16th century Church and  just off the  Dedham High Street.  Dedham is easily accessible by both public and  private transportation.  The nearby towns of Manningtree and Colchester are a short taxi ride away. From there, regular trains travel between  London Liverpool Street and Norwich. The train ride from London takes  approximately an hour and the trains are frequent..

Alternatively you can drive to Dedham by car. While a car is not  necessary to enjoy a relaxing stay in the village,  it is essential  if you wish to make outings to other villages and many tourist attractions nearby. Suffolk and Essex are noted for 
their fine medieval churches, charming hamlets with well-preserved colour washed timber  framed buildings, ancient inns, ancient market towns and beautiful country walks. Car hire is available in most towns and at Stansted Airport.
